Dann Lisik (Vancouver)

Advisory Board

Dann lives in Maple Ridge with his wife and 4 children. He was raised in a Christian household and seeks to raise his children with the same joy and example that he saw growing up. Dann is a journeyman pipefitter by trade and the owner of his own plumbing business (Woodwards-CRS) but spends most of his time working in the movie industry.

Dann is a long-standing member of the IATSE union, has worked on movies and TV shows in construction and as a grip, and for the last few years, as a special effects coordinator and pyrotechnician. He has been SFX coordinator for the mini-series “Life XP”; Steven King’s “The Stand”; and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” and “Superman & Lois”. Dann also possesses licenses for both fireworks display and firearms – both of which are useful in his trade. His work in the film industry even cost him an eye – but as a benefit, Dann now owns one of the world’s few bionic eyes.

In addition to family, church and work, Dann loves to make time for outdoor activities. He’s an avid fisherman, enthusiastic amateur photographer, and committed cyclist, who has done 100-kilometer rides for cancer research. He has even organized and run 3 “Canada Day” fireworks displays for the city of Coquitlam.

Dann also is experienced at working on independent movie projects and is looking forward to helping CPM create some amazing films.

Dann has earned the position of Special Effects Department Chair for LATSE 891, that is, the film union that covers BC and Yukon.
